I’m totally honoured to be shortlisted for Consumer Writer of the Year for the 2025 Travel Media Awards for my features on my family, Kipling & Lahore for Telegraph Travel, my Havana changemakers story for Adventure.com, and a feature on exploring the River Waveney by bike, foot and water for BBC Travel on the 25th anniversary of the publication of Roger Deakin’s groundbreaking book, Waterlog.

All these stories are about places close to my heart.

I’m shortlisted, too, for Sustainability Travel Feature of the Year for my in-depth story on the Cubans forging a future in crisis-hit Cuba for Adventure.com
