I have been working on the ground in Cuba for more than 15 years and have countrywide contacts especially in tourism, and the arts. I speak fluent Spanish, and have detailed knowledge of tourism in Cuba and tourism products across the state and private sector.
In 2015, I started working as a consultant.
I organised dozens of meetings in Havana with state and private tourism professionals for an international conservation NGO, Fauna & Flora International. I also produced a report for the charity on tourism and economic developments across the island.
I advised a TV channel journalist on working in Cuba for a new series, and several reporters visiting Cuba for the first time. I also facilitated a trip for an American photographer’s project.
Hello Claire
We are travelling to Cuba for New Years Eve. We are having major difficulty in getting accommodation in Havana. Any insider tips? Many of the “expert” agencies have come back with either nothing or poor options or not at all.
All advice gratefully received.
Emma
Hi Emma,
The trouble is demand has overwhelmed supply in Cuba. I would imagine all the good hotels and best casas are now full for that period which is why the agencies have not got anything on their books. Have you tried Cubacasa.co.uk or hostelz.com or Cuba Travel Network’s live availability hotels site?
